Coldplay frontman Chris Martin jumps fence to pose with newlyweds in Perth

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has made a bride and groom’s special day even more memorable after jumping a fence to take a photo with them.

Martin delighted fans when he stepped out for a stroll in Burswood, sans footwear, on Friday afternoon ahead of his band’s two sell-out shows at Perth’s Optus Stadium this weekend.

The wedding day of a happy couple took a star turn when the Yellow singer leapt a fence to take a photo with the newlyweds.

“Just thank you. We are lucky to play everywhere, particularly in the city furthest away from everywhere in the world,” Martin said when asked about his Perth visit.

“We are just grateful. I’m just happy to see everyone.”

The visit is Coldplay’s first to Australia in seven years and their first stop in WA since 2009.

It came after the band behind hits such as Clocks and Viva La Vida added an Australian-exclusive Perth performance to their record-breaking Music of the Spheres tour.

A second show was added to meet the huge demand from fans scrambling for tickets when they became available in May.
