Sarah Di Lorenzo shares her easy on-the-go breakfasts that will save you time in the morning

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner.

And on Sunday, Sarah Di Lorenzo joined Weekend Sunrise to share foods to put you in the mood.

The beloved nutritionist put together a number of dishes for couples, which included her favourite aphrodisiacs such as oysters, chocolates, figs, and honey.

Truffles

Ingredients

3/4 cup of almond butter

2 tablespoons of coconut oil

1/2 cup of coconut cream

1 cup cocoa

1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Pink of salt

1/2 cup of coconut sugar

Method

Melt the coconut oil, coconut cream and almond butter on a low heat, just enough to melt.

Remove from heat and stir in cocoa, sugar salt and vanilla and chill for 30 minutes.

Then roll into balls, and you can coat in melted dark chocolate chips or cocoa powder or coconut sugar.

Keep in the fridge.

Love Potion Cocktails

Serves 2

60 ml honey

60 ml water

6 figs cut into quarters

2 sprigs of thyme

240 ml champagne or prosecco

120 ml apple cider or apple juice

30 ml orange liquor

Method

Bring honey, water, and figs to a simmer over low heat, whisking until honey is dissolved and figs soften. Add thyme and let simmer for 10 minutes.

Remove thyme from mixture. Blend honey and figs into a smooth syrup. Combine alcohols in a pitcher and add 2 tablespoon of honey fig syrup. Pour into glasses and garnish.

Oyster Vinaigrette

1 small fresh shallot or 1/4 red onion, diced

75 ml red wine vinegar

Small bunch of chives

Pinch of salt

1/2 teaspoon of maple syrup

Black pepper (a few grinds)

Method

Mix well and enjoy

Home-made Chocolates

180 grams of dark chocolate

Pinch of salt

1/4 cup of crush pistachio nuts

Method

Melt the chocolate, add the salt and the pistachio nuts and pour into little chocolate moulds.

Put into the fridge to set for a minimum of 1 hour.
