Sunrise host Nat Barr has been red-faced after an awkward moment during an interview with MKR judge Nigella Lawson.
Nat and co-host Matt Shirvington spoke to the celebrity chef on Thursday’s show ahead of the MKR quarter finals which airs this Sunday night.

But the popular host was left stunned when Shirvo threw a curveball at the end of the segment when he told Nigella that Nat had gained a huge following on social media with her own home-cooking videos.
“Just really quickly, Nigella, without notice – Nat also posts some recipes of her own and they go nuts,” he said.
Nat immediately became embarrassed, motioning for Shirvo to cut the line of questioning and whispering: “Don’t tell her that!”

She then said louder: “Don’t tell her that! She’s an actual cook!”
Not to be deterred, Shirvo continued and asked Nigella if she would ever “consider a collaboration” with his co-host.
“A live stream with Nat?” he asked.
But just as the Sunrise hosts looked to Nigella – who was appearing via video link from the UK – to hear her answer, the connection dropped out.

The technical drama meant Nat was left hanging after Shirvo’s impromptu question – with no idea about Nigella’s response.
“Oh, hang on, hang on,” Shirvo said. “Are you there, Nigella?
“We’re gonna have to wait.”
The awkward pause left an amused Nat and the Sunrise crew in hysterics, until Nigella eventually came back into the interview.
“I’m going to check out Nat’s Instagram, absolutely,” she said.

After saying goodbye to Nigella, Nat joked that the TV chef’s “publicity people definitely pulled the plug on that” before taking a cheeky swipe at Shirvo for his surprise question.
“I’m gonna kill you!” she said.
