A day after confirming he and his wife had separated, Sunrise sports presenter Mark Beretta shared some more personal news.
On Saturday, Mark confirmed an amicable split with his wife, Rachel and said the couple’s teenage children, Ava and Dan, were their priority moving forward.
The pair married in 2001 after meeting in 1999.

“At the start of the year, after a great deal of reflection and 22 years of marriage, Rach and I came to the conclusion that a separation was best for us,” Mark said in the statement via a Seven spokesperson.
“We remain good friends, and our two children and grandchild remain our focus and priority as we move forward with love, dignity, and respect.”
Now, in a new post, Mark has revealed his father has recently gone through a cancer battle.

“It’s a new day and I am grateful,” he wrote on Sunday.
“Thank you medical scientists, cancer researchers, oncologists and wonderful nurses because this week you saved my dad’s life.
“Medical science is astounding. Never thought I would need the work of our brilliant researchers or the breakthroughs funded by the awesome @tourdecureaus team, but this week my dad needed it all and more.
“My entire family is eternally grateful and I will be stepping up my efforts with this great charity.

He received a Medal of the Order of Australia at a special ceremony in Sydney last year for his service to the community through charitable organisations.
Friends, fans and former colleagues were quick to share their love for Mark’s post.
“Mate you’ve helped so many others … I’m so glad the good news fairies sprinkled some good fortune on you and your family,” Grant Denyer responded.
“Amazing news mate! Praying for a speedy recovery,” Matt Doran wrote, while former Sunrise host David Koch added: “Great news mate”.
Meanwhile, The Morning Show star Kylie Gillies also responded, writing, “Big hugs to your Dad and fam Beretts.”
