Sunrise star Nat Barr’s unexpected Home and Away ‘audition’ at Logies stuns

She was stepping out for TV’s night of nights – the TV WEEK Logie Awards – but Sunrise star Nat Barr got more than she bargained for during her red carpet appearance.

The morning TV host was nabbed by crew from Home and Away as she attended the prestigious awards ceremony at The Star, Sydney, and they had an unusual request.

They wanted her to take part in a mock ‘audition’ for the hit Channel 7 soap.

In a video titled “Home and Away auditions”, Nat could be seen giving it her all, as she attempted to act out a scene – delivering a line that could easily have been written for Home and Away favourite Lynne McGranger.

“Flippin’ heck girlie, I didn’t come down in the last shower!”

The media personality delivered a very passionate version of the line, showing off her acting potential.

And Nat wasn’t the only star who was game to give it a go.

Next up was Nat’s co-host Matt Shirvington who yelled to the camera: “You flaming galah, get out of my surf club!”

Jackie ‘O’ Henderson delivered the same line as Nat, with her eyes glued to the camera throughout the delivery.

The radio personality stunned in a red strapless dress, with her blonde hair curled over her shoulders.

7NEWS presenter Michael Usher was next, showing off a voice very different from the one fans are used to hearing during his news bulletin.

Also seen attempting the lines were AGT and Australian Idol host Ricki-Lee Coulter, The Chase star Issa Schultz and SAS Australia’s Ant Middleton.

During the Logies cereomy, the actual cast of Home and Away walked away from the night with another Logie award, snagging the prize for Most Popular Drama Series for a second year in a row.

This win led Home and Away to break the record for most Logies won by a TV series, having secured nine Logies.

As the entire cast gathered on the stage, actress Georgie Parker delivered the speech, calling the win “pretty amazing”.

“Australian drama and comedy at the moment is firing and there is so much for you to engage yourself in,” she said.

“TV Week thank you for giving us this night where we can celebrate our industry, Channel 7 thank you for your endless support, for your enthusiasm and support of Australian drama.

“To our beloved crew, you make every day worthwhile. To everyone who makes this colossal show happen every week, thank you so much!

“To our fans near and far, some of you have been with us for multiple decades, thank you for giving us something to work so hard for and celebrate tonight.

“We literally do this for you.”
