The ship, which set sail on Saturday, features 20 decks, seven swimming pools and nine whirlpools, 40 restaurants and cost $US2 billion ($A3 billion) to build.

The ship weighs 250,800 tonnes and is about 365m long.

Appearing on Sunrise on Monday, guest CeeCee Bankston said the ship felt like a resort, with passengers going island-hopping for a trip around the Caribbean.

“It starts to feel like you’re at an all-inclusive resort — it’s like you’re not even on a ship — you lose your entire sense of being on a ship,” she said of her time on board.

Tickets cost upwards of $A3000.

The first day of ticketing was the largest ever in Royal Caribbean’s 53-year history.

“When you’re on a new ship, you are going to have premium pricing. For this one, I thought Royal Caribbean knocked it out of the park,” Bankston said.

“The money, the innovation, the experience is great.”

The ship features Thrill Island, the world’s biggest at-sea water park, and the Frightening Bolt waterslide.

It also boasts the Pressure Drop, the first open free-fall waterslide on a cruise.

The ship is split into eight different neighbourhoods, designed to appeal to the different age demographics of customers.
